Role: Account Executive

Team: Sales 

Reports To: Head of Partnerships & Sales

Location: We are a remote-first company but we prioritize candidates in New York City, Chicago, D.C., Seattle, and San Francisco given the customer requirements of this role. We have office spaces available in all of our hubs.

Travel: This role will travel 1-2 times per quarter for in-person customer meetings and industry conferences. Note, Knit does US All Team, in-person company events 2x per year.

Knit is the The Researcher-Driven AI Platform helping researchers run agency-quality quant + qual research at DIY costs & speed. Through Knit, brands like NASCAR, JBL, and Mars automate their consumer research process to get a quicker and more holistic understanding of their audiences.

Overview & Responsibilities 

The purpose of the Account Executive at Knit is to bring on net new partnerships. At its core, this role exists to ensure Knit is growing its client base by building strong relationships with new potential clients. 

This role collaborates closest with Sales and Customer Success. While Sales closes net new logos and drives net new revenue, this role will closely collaborate with Customer Success team members throughout the sales process to ensure Knit’s products align with Client’s needs - driving the lead from prospect to close

Post-contracting, this role collaborates with Account Management, Customer Success, and Product - the teams executing against the partnerships. Through collaboration, this role will share where the customer is hoping to get the most value out of Knit’s tools, where they have potential to churn, and overall setting the team up to build a strong partnership with the new client.  

Key performance indicators for this team:

  • The Partnerships & Sales team is measured on their ability to generate net new revenue.
  • This role is specifically measured by: 
    • Revenue brought in by Net New Logo acquisition

Primary responsibilities of this role:

  • Achieve revenue growth targets by selling Knit’s products and services to enterprise companies
  • Generate new sales introductions through consistent and tailored outbound outreach, as well as collaboration with Marketing team on inbound requests
  • Manage and drive a strong, detail-oriented sales process from prospecting to close, while also building strong relationships with potential clients
  • Once a new client is brought up, collaborate with Account Management, Customer Success, and Research to ensure a smooth transition of the relationship from net new business to existing partnerships takes place
  • Continuously try new things and think proactively about ways to bring on new clients
 

Key Skills & Experiences

A successful candidate for this role has experience bringing on net new contracts at Fortune 1000 companies, specifically with Insights and Marketing teams. This experience is important as the main responsibility for the role is to give our clients the best experience working with Knit, while uncovering new opportunities to partner. 

Required skills & experiences: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the research and insights industry 
  • Experience autonomously owning and leading customer relationships
    • We are specifically looking for individuals who have supported customers at Enterprise, Fortune 1000 companies, with Insights titles (including but not limited to Chief Research/Insights Officers, VP, director-level and above)
  • Consistent track record of hitting net new sales targets
  • Experience selling $100,000+ annual contracts to clients at Fortune 1000 companies
  • Extremely organized with aggressive attention to detail
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment, specifically with customer success, client services, marketing, and product teams
  • Sales approach with heavy lean towards discovery - running a process that is extremely thoughtful, intentional, curious and consultative
