A little about us…

Knit is an AI-native consumer research platform helping brands automate and accelerate primary research. With our Researcher-Driven AI, we’ve condensed the entire quant + qual research process from weeks into days (sometimes hours!) for 50+ leading enterprise brands — including Amazon, Mars, Adobe, NASCAR, JBL, and the WNBA.

We’re on a mission to scale and democratize world-class research. From survey generation to stakeholder-ready reports, our platform is redefining how insights teams operate — and we need your help to push the limits of what’s possible.

Overview

We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer to own a comprehensive update of the Knit platform and help us push the boundaries of what's possible in AI-powered research. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role responsible for driving end-to-end product development—from problem discovery through design, execution, and iteration.

As the most senior designer on the team, you’ll be expected to operate autonomously, define ambitious product goals, and translate insights from users into elegant, scalable solutions. You bring a background in AI-native UX research and deeply understand the new frontier of AI-native versus traditional SaaS design methodologies.

Responsibilities | Outcomes You Will Own

Product Discovery & Research

  • Lead solution discovery with customers to deeply understand their workflows, pain points, and needs while continuing to define and refine Knit’s Product Vision
  • Plan and conduct regular interviews and usability tests to validate ideas and gather feedback - becoming the go to person for design tests with customers
  • Synthesize insights into user flows, wireframes, journey maps and prototypes to inform product direction and engineering requirements

Collaborate and Drive the Product Roadmap

  • Working closely with the Director of Product, evolve the reimagining of the Knit Platform
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering and AI teams to drive execution
  • Prioritize ruthlessly - focus the team on what matters most and keep them aligned on goals

Design System Leadership

  • Build and maintain our core design system in Figma in collaboration with design and engineering partners
  • Champion design consistency and usability across the product - you are ultimately responsible for the user experience of the areas you own

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

  • Serve as the voice of the user in daily standups, sprint planning, and retros
  • Build tight relationships with GTM teams (Sales, Marketing, CS) to ensure product success post-launch and understand their customer perspective
  • Present ideas and working prototypes to the entire company, including at quarterly reviews or check-ins with other departments

Required Skills & Experiences | Who You Are

  • 10+ years of design experience, with 3+ years in high-growth startup environments (Series A or B), even though you may not be at a startup right now
  • Proven ability to ship 0-1 AI-native products - end-to-end ownership across solution discovery, design, development, and launch - understanding the differences between AI-native and traditional B2B SaaS design - with a portfolio demonstrating this
  • Deep experience with Figma - not just using it, but building design systems, component libraries, and scaling design processes
  • Strong track record of leading B2B user research: conducting interviews, usability testing, and turning qualitative insights into actionable plans - knowing when to use the right tool for the job
  • Comfortable collaborating deeply and independently with engineers and AI teams - you don’t need to code, but you ask the right questions and understand potential tradeoffs
  • Skilled at managing ambiguity and complexity; you bring clarity and focus, especially when stakes are high

You’ll Truly Impress Us With

  • Experience at frontier AI labs or other leading AI startups, creating new UX paradigms for AI-native products
  • Having been the first design hire at a company
  • A background in setting up user research and design validation from scratch
  • Building a design system other designers and engineers have utilized
  • Experience building tools specific to the market research industry
